Winemaker’s Notes

The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc greets the eye with a gleaming, pale lemon-gold hue, hinting at the rich flavors hidden within. Aromatically, this vintage delivers a captivating blend of freshness and complexity. The bouquet reveals an invigorating burst of fresh citrus fruits like Meyer lemon and grapefruit, accentuated by exotic hints of guava and passion fruit.

On the palate, the initial impression is one of brisk minerality that is reminiscent of the vineyard’s proximity to the ocean. However, this gives way to a lush array of tropical fruit flavors, demonstrating the warm, ripe vintage. A subtle herbaceous undertone characteristic of the varietal underpins notes of pineapple and guava. As the wine evolves in the glass, secondary notes of baked apple and brioche add depth to the flavor profile. 

The wine maintains a delightful balance despite the fruit concentration, thanks to the Russian River Valley’s signature acidity. This, coupled with a touch of salinity and wet-rock minerality, extends through the long, satisfying finish. This bottling can certainly be enjoyed on its own but would also pair wonderfully with a variety of dishes, from creamy risotto and shellfish to spicy Thai cuisine.
